BARRE - Christopher Demas, 50, of South Main Street has gone on to Heaven to be in the loving presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at home after a long struggle with juvenile diabetes. Though his life was shaped by deep hardship and suffering, in Jesus his body now has been fully healed. Chris belonged to Christ from childhood having been reborn in faith and claimed by grace at a young age.
He was born on Easter Sunday, March 30, 1975, in Burlington, VT, to Gary Demas and Caroline Newhall. He attended Websterville Baptist Church and Chrisian School and graduated from Williamstown High School. After graduation, he went on to earn an associate’s degree from ITT Technical Institute. He started his career as a Computer Technician in the St. Louis, MO area.
He liked to say the greatest accomplishment in his life was being the proud father of his daughter, Allexis Demas.
In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, sugaring with his father, Dan, and all outdoor activities -especially skiing, snowmobiling, swimming, and camping with his family, playing computer games with his friends and watching Sci-Fi movies and TV shows, and helping at a local dairy farm.
Survivors include his parents Caroline and Daniel Newhall; his daughter Allexis Demas; his sisters Bethany Demas and Rebekah Razzaq; and his stepbrother Jamie Newhall as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert and Marilyn Wilson, his paternal grandparents Merrill and Hazel Demas, his cousin Moriah Wilson and his nephew Jibreal Razzaq.
Per his wishes there will be no services. Burial will take place in Wilson Cemetery in the Spring.
