WILLISTON-Charlotte F. Philbrook, 89, of Williston, VT, passed away peacefully and on her own terms on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT.

She was born on October 20, 1936, to Ernest & Emily (Walker) Philbrook in Manchester, NH. The family moved to Barre, VT in 1941.

Charlotte graduated from Spaulding High School in 1954 and from Boston University in 1958 with a degree in music education.

She taught elementary music in Barre and in the Burlington School District. Over the thirty plus years she taught, she touched many students’ lives and made lifelong friendships with the people she taught with.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Heather (Rob) Stalling of Barre, VT, Colin Philbrook, of Washington VT, Heidi Philbrook and companion Eric Lane of Colchester, VT, and Cindy (Peter) Swartz of Palm Harbor, FL, and by several great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Wallace Clark Philbrook, and Chadbourne W. Philbrook, and her companion of several years, Dennis Barker.

Per Charlotte’s request, there will be no memorial services. She will be laid to rest in the Center Conway Cemetery in Center Conway, NH, at the convenience of her family.

Charlotte was an extraordinary daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher. She will be greatly missed by many.
