BARRE – Charles M. Collins, 67, of North Main Street, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at his home.
Born on January 4, 1957, in Barre, he was the son of Henry John and Hilda Louise (Renfrew) Collins. He attended elementary schools in Washington Village, Williamstown, and Chelsea. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until he was honorably discharged.
Charles was employed by the Towns of Orange and Washington before retiring.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, and farming.
Survivors include his daughters Jennifer Collins of Montpelier, VT and Tammy Collins of Washington, VT; his grandchildren Damon Collins of South Barre, VT, Alyana Rutledge of Duxbury, VT, and Aiden Collins of Montpelier, VT; and his brother Ernest Collins of Graniteville, VT as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Alonzo, Ronald, and Henry.
The graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington at a date and time to be announced in the Spring. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.
