BARRE – Carter Ryan Welch, 19, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, in a motor vehicle accident.

Born on October 1, 2004, in Berlin, he was the son of Kendell Welch III and Christina Singleton.

Carter led a life filled with many interests and talents including camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and bowling. He excelled at auto mechanics with a particular fondness for anything John Deere and trucks. He enjoyed the design and fabrication as well as the automotive classes he took at Spaulding High School where he was a graduate of the class of 2023.

Following high school, Carter became a Team Leader at Tractor Supply Company where he developed many close connections with his co-workers and customers. During his spare time, he took great pride in rebuilding his Toyota Tacoma and recently became interested in grilling on his Blackstone Grill.

Carter will be most remembered as a jack of all trades with a quiet demeanor and bright blue eyes.

Survivors include his parents Kendell and Christina, his sisters Caitlin and Callie, his grandparents Denise Singleton (David Armstrong), Donald Singleton (Dorothy), Kendell Welch II and Kimberly Gilleney (Peter) as well as his uncle, aunts, cousins and his chocolate lab and best friend, Gunner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Barre Lodge of Elks, #1535, 10 Jefferson Street, Barre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Association, 1 National Life Drive, Davis 2, Montpelier, VT  05620-3702.
