GRANITEVILLE - Brent William “Skip” Preston, Jr., 48, of McHugh Road, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015, at his home with his family at his side.
Born on March 5, 1967 in Lebanon, NH, he was the son of Brent William and Brenda (Stevens) Preston, Sr. He attended Brattleboro Elementary School and Brattleboro High School.
On August 18, 2012, Skip married Jeanne Marie DeForge and they made their home in Graniteville.
He had worked as a cook at Denny’s Restaurant in Rutland and the Wayside Restaurant in Berlin. He was very proud of his Abenaki Native American heritage and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
A Red Sox and Dallas Cowboy fan, he also enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Jeanne DeForge of Graniteville, he is survived by his daughters, Tabitha Normandy of Woodstock and Rachael Normandy of Graniteville; his son, Joshua Normandy of Woodstock; four grandchildren, Kendra LaPrade, Jaxon LaPrade, Aubree Normandy, and Franklin Normandy; his mother, Brenda Anthony of Brewton, AL; a sister, Krissy Preston and her husband, Keith Bailey of Wilder; his maternal grandfather, Joseph Stevens of Ashuelot, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins.
His father, Brent William Preston, Sr. and a sister, Kimberly Kelly predeceased him.
Per his wishes, there are no services planned.
