Bonnie L. Murray

WILLISTON – Bonnie Lee Murray, 70, of Eagle Crest passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington with her loving family at her bedside.

Born August 11, 1946 in Barre, she was the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Buswell) Morris, Sr.  Bonnie attended elementary school in Orange and Spaulding High School class of 1964.

In 1970, she married Gordon Murray in the First Presbyterian Church in Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in Orange and enjoyed many wonderful years together.

Bonnie and her husband ran an auto body shop for 30 years while raising their 3 sons. She was a member of Women of the Moose club and in her spare time, enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, playing bingo and going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon; and her sons Douglas Murray of Orange, VT and Joey Murray of Mooers, NY; her grandchildren Jessica, Kayla, Jodi, and Douglas Murray, Jr.; her sisters Patty David and her husband, Jack of Southerton, CT, Sandra Holt and her husband, Larry of East Montpelier ,VT and Avis Herwig and her husband, Robert of Williston, VT; her brothers Steven Morris and his wife, Linda of Orange, VT; Richard Morris and his wife, Rose of Canaan, NH; and James Morris and his wife, Karen of Danville, VT.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Scott Murray and his wife, Deborah; her granddaughter Laura Murray; and her brothers Robert Morris and Edwin Jr. “Junie” Morris.

The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. There are no calling hours. Interment will be held in the spring at the East Corinth New Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
