BARRE - Bennie E. Lamica, 68, of East Barre, Vermont, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, with his devoted wife, Donna, and son, Brian, by his side, following a courageous 4½-year battle with cancer.

Born on June 29, 1957, in Tupper Lake, New York, he was the son of Alexander Lamica and Edith (Pulsifer) Nason. Bennie was the youngest of five children, three of whom survived him.

He shared 20 years with his beloved wife, Donna (Rogers) Paton, and they were married on January 7, 2017. Above all else, Bennie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply valued time spent with those he loved.

A skilled mechanic by trade, Bennie had a natural talent for fixing just about anything. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends in need. Whether working in the garage or spending quiet time at home, his greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family.

Bennie also greatly enjoyed his time spent at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Barre, Vermont, especially the fellowship and friendship he shared with Rev. Earl Kooperkamp.

Bennie was the father of five daughters and had 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He remained especially close with his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Woods) Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Elizabeth Paton; their children, Faythe and Landon; and his beloved Shih Tzus, Jill and Gidget.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
