Barbara C. Peterson

BARRE – Barbara C. Peterson, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Lincoln House.

Born January 29, 1930 in Barre, she was the daughter of John Alexander and Marian Clara (Dodge) Cameron. Barbara attended East Barre Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1948. After high school, Barbara attended Lyndon State College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1952.

She married Richard Peterson and they made their home in Waterford, VT. He predeceased her.

Barbara was a grade school teacher in Barre Town, Stowe and then in Vernon, CT for over thirty years.

She attended the East Barre Congregational Church.

Barbara loved to be outside in the sun. She also enjoyed traveling and spending some winters in Venice, FL.

Survivors include her nieces Sharon Cummings and her husband, Graig and their son, Cameron; Linda White, and Debra Noyes and her son Steven.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard and her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly Cameron and Reginald Berube.

The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held in the Wilson Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
