BARRE TOWN – Antionette A. “Toni” Connell, 94, a long-time resident of Windridge Drive, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a patient about a year.
Born April 25, 1923 in North Adams, MA, she was the daughter of Roy D. and Alma (Hampel) Germaine. She attended area schools and was a graduate of Drury High School in North Adams, MA in 1941.
On April 6, 1946 she married James Connell in Stamford, VT. Following their marriage, they made their home in Clarksburg, MA, Stamford, VT and Amherst, NH. They moved to their home on Windridge Drive in 1976. James died October 30, 2004 at his residence.
During her working career, she was a laboratory tester for the former Sprague Electric Company in Barre.
“Toni” had belonged to the Hedding United Methodist Church in Barre City as well as the Cobble Hill Grange and the AARP. Being an avid reader, she and her late husband were volunteer workers at the Aldrich Public Library in Barre City for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, James in 2004 and has no immediate survivors.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Entombment will be made in the Hooker and Whitcomb Receiving Vault to await burial next to her beloved husband at the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town.
