BARRE - Anne Elizabeth Fleming-Hogan passed away on September 7, 2018. She was born in Manhattan, New York on May 27, 1965 the daughter of Seamus and Elizabeth Fleming.

On May 23, 1992 she married Brendan Hogan in Montpelier. They celebrated 26 years of marriage and 30 years together this past summer.

Anne graduated from U-32 High School and Lyndon State College with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Counseling. In addition to being a wife and mother she worked in many different public service and human service positions over the past 30 years including; Burlington High School Special Education, Champlain Vocational Services, Transitional Housing Services, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of VT, Waterbury Village Library, Aldrich Library, Capstone Preschool and most recently at Barre City Elementary Preschool.

Anne leaves behind many friends from both work and school with whom she shared happy times and events through her life.   Family and friends were integral to her life and she leaves behind several lifelong friends with whom she shared years of laughter, joy and a deep connection. She liked to garden, cook, travel and spend time with family and friends and especially with her husband and three children. Her sense of humor and smile was something people close to her will never forget and truly miss.

Anne is survived by her mother Elizabeth of Berlin, and also survived by her husband Brendan and their three children; Liam, Cellan and Eamon Hogan of Barre. She will be dearly missed by her sister Mary Fleming of Plainfield; nephew W.J. Franks and his wife, Catherine Franks and their son Coleson of Barre; niece Elizabeth Chizmar and her husband, Jason and their children Nash and Nora of Springfield, NH; niece Serena Franks of Plainfield; and niece Krista Franks and her partner, Matt Shangraw of Williamstown. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Helen Hogan of Burlington; Kathleen Danehey and her husband, Charles and their children Maura, Charlie and James of Hopewell Junction, NY; and Bridget Hogan Cole and her husband, Brian and their children Mathew and Ben of Valencia CA. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers-in-law Arthur Hogan and his wife, Eileen and their children Rush and Ashleigh of Duxbury MA; Patrick Watson Hogan and his children Caroline, Andrew, Ethan and his grandson Caleb of Boca Raton, FL; and Michael Hogan and his wife, Monica and their children Aidan, Megan and Caitlin of Hingham, MA.

She was predeceased by her father Seamus Fleming, her in-laws Arthur and Helen Hogan, her sister-in-law Pamela Watson and her great nephew Gabriel.

Anne was a first generation American as her parents immigrated to America from Ireland in the 1960’s.   She leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins in Ireland and she had the opportunity to visit them many times over her lifetime.
