BERLIN – Alvin P. White, Sr., 73, of Cedar Drive, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in his home.
Born on October 21, 1941, in California, he was the son of Albert V. and Bertha A. (Mefford) White. Phil was a member of the 4 Sq Church; Calvary Temple. He attended Bidwell Elementary School and Red Bluff Union High School in California where he graduated. He worked as a self-employed contractor for many years.
Phil enjoyed traveling, painting, sketching, architecture, drafting, and building homes, furniture and computers. His favorite eats; eggs, grits, butter-beans and cheeseburgers. Favorite colors; red, white and blue.
Survivors include; his daughters, Doreen Hutchins and her husband Lonnie of Berlin; Esther Tripp and her husband Jeff of Lady Lake, Florida and Regina White of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sons, Phil White, Jr. and his wife Tracey of Cape Coral, Florida and Ashley Weis of Fresno, California; his brothers, Gerald “Bud” White of Red Bluff, California and Vernon White of Dolan Springs, Arizona; his 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters; Alma Tanem (White), Ruth Pitman (White), and Naomi Abolt (White); and his brothers, Paul White and David White.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 am on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Cabbage Keys in the Pine Island Sound, Florida. (water taxi service required and available).
