Barre Town

BARRE TOWN – Allen Charles Wilde, 56, of Websterville passed away peacefully at the University of Vermont Medical Center on Monday, December 17, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.   Agreeing to advanced medical interventions, Allen was determined to continue his fight against his diagnosis of CHF in hopes to have the opportunity to thrive in the simplest things in life such as outdoor chores with his tractor, backyard cookouts and quality time with his precious sheltie dog, Bailey.

Born on December 20, 1961 to Clifford and Mavis (Allen) Wilde, he spent his childhood in Barre City attending local schools.

Allen was very meticulous and took great pride in his work ethic. Former employment included Cabot Creamery, Bombardier Transportation, SB Electronics and most recently Rinker’s Communications. His passion was ham radio operations and collecting electronic equipment related ham radios and antennas, attending annual ham radio flea markets as well as a Corvette enthusiast.

Survivors include his mother Mavis Wilde of Barre; a sister Patricia (Richard) Hill; a niece Katherine Christine; two great nieces, Kyra Michelle and Emmaleah all of Florida. It is with a heavy heart, that he leaves his former wife and confidant, Colette Gagnon; step-daughter Danielle (David) Ballenger; and step-granddaughter Marlo Rae.   He was predeceased by his father in 1975.

Per Allen’s wishes, there will be no services.

Extended gratitude goes to the Central Vermont Medical Center, University of Vermont Medical Center and all the nurses and doctors who aided in his care whom understood Allen’s strong will to live, never gave up on him and abided by his wishes till his final breath.

Allen’s motto in life was the three “L’s” – Look, Listen and Learn. If anything is remembered from this life lost too young, it should be this.
