Alexander S. Florucci

BARRE – Alexander S. Florucci, 84, of Berlin Street passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at his home.

Born on February 5, 1939, in Barre City, he was the son of Elisio and Minnie (Rennie) Florucci.  He attended elementary school in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1957.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Cook with the rank of  SPC 5.

After the service, he became employed by the Grand Union Supermarket and worked for over 50 years.

He was a member of the Hedding Methodist Church in Barre as well as the Barre Elks Lodge #1535, the American Legion Post #10 of Barre, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #790 of East Barre.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and playing cards.

Survivors include his brother Alan Florucci of Colchester, and his sisters Betsy Pierce and Kathy Santa Maria, both of Barre.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James, Jack, and Peter and his sisters Eleanor and Margaret.

The graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hope Cemetery in Barre.  There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
