BARRE TOWN – Albert Weston Fraser, 87, of Wilmuth Street, South Barre died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH with his loving family at his bedside.

Born April 7, 1929 in Upper Websterville, he was the son of John and Sadie (Wilson) Fraser. He attended Upper Websterville Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1947.

On December 29, 1951 he married Barbara Jean Bisson in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Most of their married life had been spent at their present residence.

Albert served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was assigned to the 278 th Regiment Combat Team at Ft Devens, MA.

Following his discharge, he was employed by the Goddard’s SunBeam Bakery and for 31 years as a Salesman with Nestle Foods, retiring in 1991.

Being a devoted lifetime member of the Websterville Baptist Church, he had served on the Board of Deacons as well as being a Sunday school teacher.

Albert enjoyed spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren attending their many sports activities; his golf membership at the Northfield Country Club, the Central Vermont Square Dance Club and will be remembered as a player on the Websterville Baseball team in the Barre Town summer league in the 1940’s and early 1950’s. The Red Sox were his favorite.

Besides his wife Barbara, he leaves his daughters Cheryl Craig and her husband, Devon of Plainfield and Linda Tosi and her husband, Tom of Bradenton, FL; 6 grandchildren Megan Sandor and her husband, Alex; Carlie Cullen and her husband, Matt; Jessica Tosi, and Jordan, Keith and Damion Craig as well as 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Kathleen Fraser, Inez Rowell and Enid Mackie and his brother Elwin who died in infancy.

The Service to honor and celebrate Albert’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Websterville Baptist Church.

Entombment will be made in the Hooker and Whitcomb Receiving Vault to await burial in the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town.

Friends may call at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Websterville Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 68, Websterville, VT 05678, or the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Road, Barre, VT 05641.
